Little Gull added to my Life List !

Took time out to drive the hour over to Burton Mere RSPB reserve this morning on the hunt for a 1st Year Little Gull. Although Macclesfield was lovely and sunny the same could not be said for the Wirral ! Foggy, grey and dull. However the Little Gull put on a display regardless. Having lived in the UAE for the last 12 years I am now catching up with some of the UK's key species :-) Burton Mere is a lovely reserve with lovely welcoming staff ! I will be back, especially for the elusive Cetti's Warbler.

A second day in the Scottish Highlands

I have done very little birdwatching in the UK in the last 12 years, a few days here and there when I had chance to visit from Dubai. Since returning to the UK I have set myself some targets, several of which occur mostly in Scotland. Some are life birds some are birds seen but not photographed. Bird Photography is my passion and so I was very happy to come across several birds on my "birding tour" that were on said list and photographable. My host had informed me of a likely location for Brent Goose but would need a high tide to get good shots. Tide information as you probably know is readily available and so we were able to plan our visit, I was not disappointed. The weather was
